The shifts and trends continue to change when it comes to video behaviors of rural Americans. Here are some of the highlights from our 2024 report which had over 800 respondents:
- 16% of rural Americans over the age of 35 who have pay TV do not have a streaming service. 42% over the age of 55 have pay TV, but do not have any streaming services.
- Satisfaction with TV providers has held steady with a 7.5 rating on a one to ten scale.
- 67% prefer paying more for the ability to skip commercials compared to 33% who would prefer a lower bill, but inability to commercial skip.
- 60% of rural Americans say their home internet service is provided by the same company that provides their TV service
- Netflix continues to lead the OTT streaming platforms of choice, but the gap is narrowing with Amazon prime.
