QA Specialist
IT Systems Administrator
eLation Financials Specialist

The QA Specialist position is an excellent opportunity for career growth. This position will provide you with the chance to become an integral part of the software development process. The key duties of this position include monitoring, testing, and proposing measures to correct or improve eLation products related to Usage, Rate Plans, Metered Utilities, Card Payment Processing, and CABS. You will assist in design and discovery for new features, provide clear and thorough release notes, provide occasional internal training, and perform triage on issues escalated from support to engineering. You will become the subject matter expert in these key areas of the eLation suite of products.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

  • Experience within eLation software, either in a support role or as a user, is preferred.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Test new features within the eLation suite of products. This includes verifying required functionality, assessing usability, and proposing improvements.
  • Coordinate with developers, support staff, and clients throughout the development cycle to ensure new features meet requirements and expectations of users. Act as subject matter expert regarding software functionality.
  • Assist with developing testing standards and processes and implementation of automated testing processes.
  • Assist with regular point release testing twice a month.
  • Triage issues to reduce support impact to engineers.
  • Assist with Release process.
  • Work in Azure DevOps and Octopus Deploy.

This position will be full time in-person. Limited hybrid work may be considered once proficient in the position.

The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of systems and networks.  This role involves troubleshooting, configuring, and upgrading hardware and software, as well as providing technical support to employees.  This position will also provide IT-related support for our clients as required for the successful operation of our products.  This position is located onsite in Mitchell, SD.

Responsibilities:

  • System Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and upgrade IT systems, including servers, networks, workstations, and applications.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
  • Technical Support: Provide outstanding technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform advanced root cause analysis for software errors and service outages.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Network Management: Configure and manage network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Compliance: Ensure IT systems comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Project Management: Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Training: Develop expertise, share knowledge with coworkers on the latest technologies, and provide end-user training as needed.
  • Travel: Minimal travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Security, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration or a similar role.

Experience with the following technologies:

  • Windows server and desktop operating systems
  • Networking gear including firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Microsoft  Azure or other cloud computing platforms
  • Microsoft SQL Server or other database servers
  • Microsoft IIS or other web servers
  • Microsoft Hyper-V or other virtualization platforms
  • Linus experience a bonus.

Skills:

  • Robust understanding of fundamental IT protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP
  • Proficiency in the installation and setup of various types of networking gear, server hardware, and desktop and laptop computers
  • Fervent desire to keep current with the latest state-of-the-art technology in the areas of communications, networking, hardware, and software, cloud computing and AI
  • Excellent problem-solving and oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

A Financials Specialist will report to the eLation Financials Support Manager.  It is a full time schedule based on a 40-hour work week with availability between 8 am and 5 pm CST.  It is located in Mitchell, SD, and remote work will be considered for the right candidate.  Travel is required both to Mitchell, SD and our client sites.  Having accounting or financial software experience and/or education will be critical to your success in this position.  Additionally, your technical abilities will enable you to address client’s software-related inquiries.

When you are part of the eLation Financials team, you will

  • Provide exceptional customer servicec, support, training, and data verification for our clients that use the software via various channels, including phone, email, and a ticketing system from 8 am to 5 pm CST.  Occasionally provide after hours support, as needed.
  • Lead software conversions independently, including data verification and assisting clients in configuration of the software to meet their business needs
  • Train clients on functionality within the software
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, and provide step-by-step guidance for issue resolution
  • Understand clients’ accounting processes and offer insights on utilizing the software for optimal results
  • Collaborate with the development team to escalate and prioritize complex technical issues
  • Document and track client interactions and resolutions in our ticketing system
  • Create support documentation, knowledge base articles, and video tutorials

These are the skills that we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Basic to intermediate technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot software-related issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Customer-centric attitude with focus on delivering exceptional customer support
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple client issues and projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with financial software is a plus
  • Previous customer support experience is an advantage
  • Experience with telecommunication companies, electric cooperatives, or municipalities is preferred

Mapping Conversion Specialist
Voice & Video Technical Support Specialist
Customer Care Support Specialist

Innovative Systems is currently seeking applicants for an entry level Mapping Conversion Specialist. This position would be responsible for converting client’s mapping records to Innovative Systems’ Mapping software.

Duties Include:

  • Assist with conversion of data into eLation Mapping software.
  • Interpret data from outside sources.
  • Updating outside plant maps to be spatially accurate.
  • Working with the latest mapping software.

Preferred Applicant Will Have:

  • Experience and knowledge of telecommunications outside plant.
  • Experience with GIS software a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with eLation Mapping software a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software a plus, but not required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Be able to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work with project deadlines.

In this role on the Voice Video Support team, you will be responsible for supporting customers systems and maintaining Voice and Video software applications.

This position is available as onsite, hybrid schedule, and remote for the right candidate.

As a Technical Support Specialist on the Voice/Video Support team, you will:

  • Assist clients with installing, provisioning and maintaining Innovative Systems Voice and Video IPTV and HLS video streaming products.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service through timely response and proactive solutions with installing, supporting, and configuring Innovative Systems products.
  • Diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software issues promptly and accurately.
  • Provide end-user training and support where required.
  • Some travel to client sites is required.

  • Experience with the following software and technologies – Windows operating system, SQL, Linux, Windows Web Servers, Wireshark, network routing, switching, and IP protocols such as TCP, UDP, IGMPv2/3, and similar protocols.

When you are part of the Innovative Systems’ eLation Customer Care team as a Support Specialist, you will:

  • Utilize the software ticketing system to efficiently manage and address daily client interactions.
  • Conduct formalized training sessions to educate end users on effectively navigating the eLation Billing software.
  • Contribute to and navigate the shared knowledge base to provide valuable resources for clients and coworkers.
  • Identify and recreate software deficiencies to effectively test and report software bugs.
  • Organize and deliver software-related presentations at our annual customer conference.

Billing Conversions & Projects Support Specialist

This position will communicate and train clients for use of Elation Software through the conversion process. Configure Elation Tables and validate accuracy of client data. Manage projects by working with clients and development staff to implement Elation functionality. Encourage best practices through site visits and training sessions.

  • This position is located in Mitchell, SD. Remote work will NOT be available for this position.
  • This position does involve occasional travel to our client sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with new clients and development staff to validate data and align client software use with Elation best practices in the Conversion process, striving for consistency and best possible conversion results.
  • Assign conversion tasks to team members and monitor use of the conversion console.
  • Meet regularly with the conversion team to communicate progress or issues of the conversion process.
  • Review areas of User Feedback to monitor client requests.
  • Work project requests from clients and professional services.
  • Recreate, enter, test, and close software bugs found.
  • Increase knowledge base and skill level of internal staff by offering training.
  • Present Webinar and eLation eLevate sessions to increase client knowledge of Elation functionality.
  • Regular travel to client sites is required for conversions and training site visits.
  • Participation in After Hours Call rotation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Leadership experience and telecommunications industry knowledge are desirable. Degree in Business, Education, Technology, or similar preferred.
