As marketers, we may get so caught up in the daily grind of updating social media, channel lineups, broadband sales pieces, and other routine duties, that we forget about research and development. Today we are going to give you some tips on gathering information and doing market research that could ultimately increase sales opportunities.
Be Problem Solvers
Sometimes the focus on sales and taking orders clouds the fact that for every order, you are in effect making life better for someone; solving a problem. What if you was to take just a little bit of time every month to gather information from people in your area on what types of problems they are having as it relates to the solutions that you have to offer.
Case Study
Did you know that over 30% of rural consumers consider having internet in their barns, machine sheds, and garages a top priority? This data was gathered in one of our previous Rural Broadband and Video research studies. Here is an example of a problem that you as a service provider can solve, and get paid for doing so!
If you are not able to budget for doing research like this, just talk to people and ask them what problems they have that you might be able to help with. Gathering word of mouth information is more challenging now due to isolation and social distancing, but use your social networks or even the phone. There is a good chance you will find something that many people need that you can package and sell.
