According to the new report by YouMail the volume of scam calls has increased year over year by nearly 12%.
After what seemed to be a bit of a reprieve, the illegal call volume is again on the rise, much to the dismay of voice providers who received orders from Congress to adopt the STIR/SHAKEN framework technology which was touted to slow the scourge.
By the Numbers according to YouMails February Report
- 159 million robocalls per day.
- 1,840 robocalls per second.
- 4% increase over January averages.
- 4.4 billion robocalls in February, a 28 day month.
It’s important to note that political and robocalls that have been opted in by the consumers are included here, but 54% were considered to be illegal calls. The states with the highest volume of illegal calls include Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee.

The goal of Congress and the FCC has always been to protect citizens from electronic theft.
